Explore the vibrant history of LGBTQIA+ sport in Perth with Team Perth!
Since 1979, our Perth community has celebrated inclusivity and the joy of sport, beginning with Perth's own “Gay Olympics” and evolving alongside the global Gay Games movement. This exhibition highlights Team Perth’s role in connecting, supporting, and advocating for LGBTQIA+ sporting clubs, bringing people together and creating a positive impact on the lives of many. Team Perth came alive out of the Gay Games movement and since Perrth has had a local explosion in LGBTQIA+ sport derived from passionate local volunteers.
At Team Perth, we stand alongside our member clubs, each representing a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to participate and thrive in sport. Our role is to uplift these clubs by fostering collaboration, promoting inclusivity, providing a free directory and advocating for safe spaces where everyone can enjoy sport and recreational activities without discrimination.
